Building a large number of base stations and their connection via high speed communication channels is a big infrastructure and investment project. Each telecom operator can hardly conduct such a project alone, so the most viable scenario features several operators forming a group to build collective 5G infrastructure on the base of new architecture solutions such as OpenRAN. An alternative is to create a joint operator that will consolidate all the capacities of Russian telecom leaders’ backbone networks.
